Fourth of July 2007

We went to the wrong beach, we were supposed to go to Kirklands's Marina Park, we went to Juanita, there were a 1000+ people there, so we weren't the only people fooled. Traditionally, the show has been at Juanita, because that facility is like 5 times larger than Marinia Park. I didn't have my tripod this time, but they mostly turned out OK without it.

Harper's Ferry Dive

Shooting diving from the surface is profoundly uninteresting but there were other things to do. I went along as the "shore buddy" to Matt and Penelope to help out and take in the sights at Harper's Ferry and generally just get out of the house. They said the diving was really good.

First and Second Order Rainbows

This was just after the sky unloaded literally about a inch of water in a about 15 minutes, and a fiar amount of hail. Within an hour it was quite nice, but for a little while there it was pretty henky. This is a handheld 6 shot pano covering about 110 degrees. I didn't actually bother to apply any lens corrections to this given I was way off the exit pupil in terms of rotation. 600x300px 88Kb.

Parents new oregon place

The new home of the parentals, and my sister's family. Located outside eugene, well, outside Elmira, it's a pretty nice place. There is a lot of work to be done there.

Snow at the George Washington Bridge

Yet another pano of one of my favorite architectural items around town, the GW bridge. This one was taken from a similar position as that of the one shot on June 6, 2003, however during the middle of the January 6 snowstorm of 2004. This shot is a true 360 horizontally and covers about 140 degees vertically. It was taken about 20 feet back from the position of the June 6 shot mostly because I couldn't tell where solid ground was in the snow for original position which lies on the very edge of the shore bank with one tripod leg going deep down the slope and requiring me to climb around it. I decided finding out wasn't worth a potential swim. This is the initial Low-res JPEG, to verify that my math was sound. The full pano is a 38-shot cylindrical projection composite that covers 360x180deg. This shot uses only some of those images, and only part of the upper and lower rows, 1024x320px 2000kB

I guess one of these days I should visit the space needle, the other drawing spans, the I-5 bridge, downtown, pike place, etc., etc.; I am beginning to look like a one-trick pony.

George Washington Bridge 3

Another Pano from the doomed day of VR's around Fremont bridge. This set was on a different card, I haven't had the patience to stich until recently. It's a bad pano set, the nodal point was off on the mount, and there were other source image issues. I skipped stiching the bottom part of the set, so it's not a full spherical. It's a bad pano, and it's even worse because I got some of the math off on the software. Low-res interavtive QTVR, 238kB

Blue Angels Seafair 2003 practice.

These are photos from the second practice session on July 31, 2003 the Blue Angles did before Seafair. I had some white balance issues (I always seem to lately,) and of course, the limitations of a Point&Shoot Digital are immediately apparent in these photos. But that's OK. I took them for yuks, and to how practical it was. Oh, and I didn't sharpen the thmubs, so deal with it.

Gorge Washington Bridge

Another from the doomed day of VR's around the Fremont Bridge, this was part of the second row of a multi-row pano from between the GW and the Fremont bridges that survived my CF problem. It really makes me wish that the rest survived, because it turned out pretty good. Non-interactive, 1024px wide, 103K.

Fremont Bridge 2

Another Pano from the doomed day of VR's around Fremont bridge. There was a second row to this one, but it was mostly missing, so it got dumped. Don't know what happened with my white balance on this one just another example of the difference in shooting film vs. digital. 1mB

Fremont Bridge 1

Pano taken from in front of the Sound, Mind and Body gym in Fremont, of the Fremont bridge. Low-res, just a warm up pano for a series of five shots that day, unfortunately, only a few survived a CF corruption. I will be putting what is left over the next day or so. These were shot on June 6, around 5pm, very warm! 1mB.

Ballard panorama

This is a Pano I shot early in the morning of March 29, 2003 of the Ballard area. It's a interactive QTVR Movie 3.9mB and the math is wrong on the interactive move, it's too flat.

Seattle Skyline

Pano from the compass rose at Gasworks Park, an early test of new stiching software, not particularly good, but not bad either except the exposure change between halves, non interactive, rectalinear about 100deg., 269kb

2003 Tournament of Roses

These are my photos from the 2003 TOR, I am a driver for Phoenix Decorating and this year we (driving floats is a team sport,) drove the soroptimist float. I wasn't much in the mood, nor taking very good photographs this year, so there are considerably less of them this year.
